Nathaniel Calloway, 28, was arrested after Connecticut State Troopers attempted to stop him on Monday on I-84 for a suspended vehicle registration, Trooper Kelly Grant said.
When the trooper pulled out to stop Calloway he sped up reaching speeds of 115 mph before the trooper lost sight of him, Grant said.
A minute or so later, the trooper came upon the vehicle that had rolled on the right shoulder of I-84. As he approached the vehicle, Calloway jumped out of the back window and fled over a fence onto River Road in Southbury, Grant added.
Within minutes, Calloway was captured by Southbury Police and State Troopers that flooded the area.
Calloway was taken into custody without incident and taken to Waterbury Hospital for evaluation.
During a search of the stolen vehicle, state police found brass knuckles and a large amount of cash. During processing, it was also discovered that he was wanted by Wallingford Police.
He was charged with reckless endangerment, interfering with an officer, larceny, reckless driving, engaging police in a chase, possession of a stolen vehicle and other charges.
Calloway is being held on $50,000 bond.
